Message from AFOM Ambassador - Warrant Officer Class One Darren Murch, OAM

Your Excellency David Hurley and Mrs Hurley, General Cantwell, RSM Lesley Hart, Dr Roderick Bain, Honorable Mayor Michael and Mrs Johnson and AFOM Directors,

I am delighted that Gail’s vision to host a dinner to reinforce the importance of military families and the challenges they face has matured. Gail and I had many

discussions about this important event early in the planning stages to determine its scope, and you are enjoying her hard work tonight. I am thankful to the Patron, General Cantwell, His Excellency David Hurley and AFOM Ambassadors and Directors for attending and highlighting the value of this organization.

I currently attend the United States Sergeants Major Academy in to El Paso, Texas, to learn as much as I can about the US military system. As always, I have my senses alert to how this large Army prepares and supports soldiers and their families for the rigors of operational deployments and life afterwards. I am a volunteer for a veterans’ home and look forward to any insightful information they may offer me, and subsequently that I may be able to transfer it back to my endeavours in Australia, specifically to AFOM.

I am sure you will enjoy each other’s company tonight that will build on the resolve to achieve AFOM’s aims and objectives.

Yours Sincerely

Warrant Officer Class One Darren Murch, OAM

AFOM Ambassador
